“No one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit” (John 3:5)
Baptizing your baby into the Catholic faith is the greatest gift a parent can give to their child. It is the first Sacrament of Initiation in the Catholic Church. Baptisms are performed by a priest or deacon on the second and fourth Sunday of the month at 12:15pm. except during Lent. The parents of the child to be baptized must be registered parishioners at St. Elizabeth’s. The newly registered must be active parishioners for two months prior to baptism.
Participation in a baptism preparation class is required of parents having their first child baptized. The one-day, approximately 2hr class is held in the evening with dates to be determined. You may attend this class prior to the birth of your child.
Please contact the Parish Office by emailing: [email protected] for more information regarding preparation class & baptism registration & Godparent requirements. You may also call 973-927-1629.
