Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope 1 Pt 3:15
The Lord Jesus Christ is the reason for my hope. Sixteen years ago, I underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from my left kidney. Before the procedure, I recall thinking that its outcome was completely out of my hands. I had no power to save my own life. I also thought that the surgical team, while competent, were fellow human beings who could have a bad day. And there was no guarantee that a successful surgery will keep the cancer away. I realized that my life depended on Someone greater than all of us. In prayer, I placed my trust in the Lord, who alone has power over life and death. God is pure Love. He unfailingly invites me to share His life with Him, undeserving as I may be. I clung to the hope that, God willing, I will wake up from surgery to be with my wife and children again. I thank and praise You, Jesus. In You, I shall never hope in vain.
