Advent has come once again to remind us to make ready our hearts for the coming of Jesus, our Lord and Redeemer.
In our First Reading, we listen to Isaiah, as he speaks to us about the day when our Lord will come to save us. Isaiah reminds us to always be prepared for this blessed time. Through Isaiah’s words, we are told to be sure to have our "eyes and ears open.” We must remember to always be listening and looking for Jesus in each person we meet.
In our Gospel, Jesus confirms that Isaiah’s prophecy will be fulfilled by Him. How blessed are we that we will be saved by Jesus through his love and forgiveness. Each day we realize that Jesus’ saving presence is always all around us. We see Jesus’ love through our family members, who offer us kindness and support when we are lost and feel alone. We feel Jesus' saving grace in our dear friends, who comfort us with their gentle understanding and unending patience.
Even in today’s chaotic and dangerous world, we are constantly reassured that Jesus is with us. We are always reminded that we are never alone on this journey of life. Jesus provides us with His guidance through those we love and trust. It is also up to us to share Jesus and His message of hope and mercy with those we encounter in our daily lives. The person you speak to about Jesus today may need His message more than you could possibly know.
Share the joy of loving Jesus with all those around you as you prepare your heart during this beautiful and blessed time of Advent!
