A two-year 'synodal' process is taking place in the Catholic Church from October 2021 that will culminate in the final Synod Gathering in Rome in October 2023. The synodal journey is of great significance for the good of both the universal and local Church. During this process, we invite all the People of God to listen to each other, without exception, and with particular care to involve also those who are further away and are perhaps sometimes not included or marginalized.

Father Stan asked Candace and Steve Niblett to be the delegates to represent St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. After receiving training at St. Paul Inside the Walls, they were tasked with interviewing a cross section of parishioners on specific topics.
Candace and Steve met with different ministries, individuals and couples in different age brackets and those in various stages of their faith journey. The results of those conversations were captured and a report was created and sent to Fr. Paul Manning. Fr. Paul will add our report to the reports submitted by the other churches in our Diocese and create one final report that will be submitted to The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). From there, all the Diocesan reports from all over the US will be consolidated and submitted to Rome.
Please see the Diocesan section below if you would like to participate in this survey via an on-line survey.
During this process of journeying together as Church, we are called to deep and attentive listening to all people, especially those who feel excluded or overlooked. With this in mind, we invite you to participate in this broad consultation through an online survey.
Please visit rcdop.org/synod-2023 or scan the QR code to fill out the survey. We appreciate you sharing the survey with all people throughout Passaic, Morris and Sussex counties.
