The Sacrament of Matrimony requires time for spiritual preparation. Arrangements should be made one year in advance.
Pre-Cana is intended to prepare couples for marriage by means of two resources- “God’s Plan for a Joy-Filled Marriage” and its companion program, “Living a Joy-Filled Marriage”. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish hosts the “Living a Joy-Filled Marriage segment.
This program is designed to complement God’s Plan whose focus is on the meaning and sacramental reality of marriage and human sexuality. Its counterpart “Living a Joy Filled Marriage” supports couples to prepare for marriage by addressing those life skills that are crucial to live holy and fruitful marriages. The program encourages and educates couples about a life of virtues by hearing and desiring to live the gospel message. What the program seeks to do is offer couples some of the bricks and mortar for building their marriage on the blue print of God’s plan for their lives together. Couples are challenged to ask, pray and plan around important questions of their personal character.
The facilitators share their experiences and provide examples which connects the content with practical, real – life occurrences.
Living a Joy Filled Marriage program is held by yearly, in the Spring and Fall on Saturdays, approximately for 8 hours. It is concluded by attending the 5 PM Mass at St. E’s.
